The first sentence in this book was: “From the very beginning there were two Christianities.” And now we have certainly seen that this is true.
If you wish to pursue the matter further, I recommend that you obtain and study The Nag Hammadi Library, a collection of very ancient Christian texts, and The Odes of Solomon, a collection of the earliest Christian hymns.
Especially valuable is a modern book, The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ, a record of the psychic impressions of Reverend Levi Dowling regarding the life and teachings of Jesus. In my opinion this is the only book which contains the true account of Jesus’ life and teaching.
I would also like to recommend The Second Coming of Christ by Paramhansa Yogananda, which is his commentary on the Gospels.
