The Odes of Solomon: 32

Virgin OransA continuation of the Commentary on the Odes of Solomon for Awakening.

To the blessed the joy is from their heart, and light from him that dwells in them.
And the Word from the Truth Who is from himself.
For he hath been strengthened by the Holy Power of the Most High, and he is unshaken for ever and ever. Alleluia.

This is hardly the picture of a Christian that is prevalent today. Here we find that the original Christians had joy arising from their heart and their minds were illumined with the light proceeding from God who was dwelling in them. Furthermore, they knew the Word which came to them from the Self-existent God. “Strengthened by the Holy Power of the Most High, and unshaken for ever and ever.”

Alleluia, indeed!
